How do you travel with babies? - Can you make a far journey with children? - Irresponsible or ideal?
While searching for answers in our surroundings we are only confronted with surprised expressions. Practical, written information about how to travel with small children is difficult to find. We have not told our grandparents yet, but our newly born twins will travel around the world.
Who are we?
We have experience with journalism in far away countries and co-operation with diverse partners. As a journalist and photographer for the newspaper De Tijd and Mondiaal Magazine MO* we made several cultural and social reports. We travelled half a year through Asia in search of happiness and positive subjects to write about. In Haïti, we reported about the political violence before the fall of the president. For UNICEF we covered the theme of child soldiers in Burundi. To be able to execute all those projects we co-operated with large partners like Broederlijk Delen, Fonds Pascal Decroos, Weco-Travel and Nikon.
In March our twins Aiden and Noë have been born. In May they made already their first adventure through Portugal. They slept in a tent, showered sometimes under cold water, visited historical sites by public transport, made a nap on the beach and where thrilled by the metro. They did not enjoy the Portugese restaurants at all. In August we did another two weeks test-journey around Poland with the babies as a preparation.
